In order to constantly improve the performance and diversity of the proposed eDNA services, SPYGEN conducts various research and development projects in collaboration with academic or private partners as well as with independent associations.
Current R & D programs
SPYGEN currently develops the VigiDNA M (“eDNA Metabarcoding”) technologies for biodiversity monitoring in freshwater aquatic environments (pools, ponds, lakes, rivers), in marine ecosystems, in soil or from environmental samplers. In the framework of those programs, the full analysis pipeline is optimised: sampling strategy, DNA extraction, DNA amplification, DNA sequencing, primer design, bioinformatics, etc. The taxonomic groups that are currently investigated are:
